I seriously cannot believe that I’m already almost done with college. Most of the time I feel like I’m still a teenage girl but here I am 21 and one semester away from graduating. The only word I can use to describe this feeling is bittersweet. I’m excited for the stage of my life after college and stepping into roles that I’ve never experienced. However, I LOVE college! So, as I said, bittersweet.
Y’all when I say I LOVE college, I’m not even exaggerating. This stage of my life has been my favorite of all time. Probably because I found my boyfriend, best friend, and passion for graphic design. But that’s not all. As overwhelming as they can get and boring some can be, I really enjoy my classes, learning new skills, and having the opportunity to work on new projects every few weeks. I love walking around campus and seeing my friends pass by. I love being a part of Liberty and the community it comes along with. There’s so many things that I try not to take for granted because I love them and love this time of my life. (Peak was when my boyfriend’s dorm had Dunkin under it!)
This feeling is new to me too because I was SO excited to leave high school and my hometown. I’m scared to be an actual adult and be responsible for literally everything in my life. But I have to remind myself of the excitement of these new stages and that after some adjustment I’m going to be just as excited for that stage as I am for this one. No matter what, I will always cherish this time in my life. The people that I met, the professors that helped me be better, walking around campus in the spring, the feeling of coming back for a new semester. I will always be grateful for these 3 years that God has grown me through and blessed me with.
For all the upcoming freshman who are nervous or sad about college, don’t be because you’re not only going to become so much more comfortable with yourself but you’re also going to find some of the greatest moments of your life! Some tips for you:
